Our Story
Having both worked in offices for years, Fernando and Amir decided it was time to jump into doing something they were passionate about. After a backpacking trip of almost three months in Central America, they came back to Lisbon and started working away on creating a book each. Managing to cover the printing costs through crowdfunding, Majericon gave birth to its first two publications – a photographic tile book and an illustrated guide.
Who we are
Amir-Alexandros Afendras is a Greek-Malaysian graphic designer & illustrator. After studying Communication Design in Melbourne, he worked in advertising in Oman and then specialised in corporate presentations. He has called Lisbon home for over a decade and is currently focused on projects that involve his greatest passion: illustration.
Fernando Veiras is a photographer born in Galicia but spent his formative years in Switzerland. After returning to Spain, where he finished his studies, he ended up in Lisbon over 20 years ago. He has worked in many fields but his greatest passion has always been photography. He was given a camera as a child and has been shooting away ever since!
